When pop sensation Lady GaGa comes to town, the fans come out. She performed this morning on the TODAY Show in Rockafeller Plaza. The show started at 7 a.m. Fans started lining up on Wednesday. When I got there at quarter to four, this was only PART of the line. I was stunned. But hey, a free show? Not many people can argue with that. Especially when tickets go in the hundreds.
GaGa even sent pizzas to fans who waited in line.
20,000 people showed up. Wow.
I wandered around a bit and made photographs. But I was mostly there as a fan.
And fans DRESS UP. It’s like one big drag queen show. I love it.
This is how far I was. And this was shot with my 70-200. I was more than a block behind the stage.
She was up there briefly, moved down and out of sight.
After the first song, though, I had to jet. I had a busy morning ahead of me and the show was running later than I intended. Shame. Oh well. At least I’ve seen her before. But as it ended, the rain came down. And camera went in my bag.
That was certainly an experience. Time for some sleep.
